Just keeping track of some stuff I like
Hi everyone - here's my story. I'm using WB 3.5, registered version on WinXP machine.

You know how in WinXP, there are certain special folders that windows more or less looks for:My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, etc. And there are special backgrounds for them - My Music has a music note, for example. I've noticed that the special background seems to have stopped being displayed.

Now I've looked at the WB skins I'm using (Essorent's Skink) and I see that he has custom graphics to match the Skink look. On his graphics, the music note is greenish, for example. The files are called "skink_sh_music.bmp", "skink_sh_movies.bmp" etc.

This is somehow related to the setting for "use WinXP style toolbars" in the WindowBlinds settings folder. If I check it shows the standerd XP blue bitmap. If I uncheck it, it shows nothing and doesn't seem to pick up the theme settings?

Any ideas?

It's because you need WB 4 to skin the shellstyles stuff like you're talking about.

If I were you I would spend the $10 and upgrade...It Rocks!!!

Kyhlwch, good idea, OD is well worth it............... I'm not positive on this, but if you shoot off an email to stardock support, you may be entitled to a discount moving up to OD from WindowBlinds.  I could be wrong, but you have nothing to lose, by checking.
